Atlanta is home to a vast collection of historical landmarks, structures, and homes which continue to tell the tale of how our nation and culture formed into what it is today.
The Margaret Mitchell House is perhaps one of the most sought-for, visited locations in Midtown Atlanta and has remained so since Mitchell lived on the ground floor apartment of the home from 1925 to 1932 while writing her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Gone with the Wind.
Today, the Mitchell House is open Monday through Saturday for guided tours of the author’s former apartment. They also curate exhibitions showcasing Mitchell’s life before, during, and after writing her novel and the turn her life took once her book was made into a feature film. Make your way to the home of an American treasure and a formative piece of our city’s history. Tickets are $13 per person and can be purchased in advance from the museum’s website.
Sincerely,
Your Sotherly Host
